Proton Drive
Encrypted cloud storage from Switzerland
SwitzerlandEFTAEFTA hostedFree planEU controlledProton Drive is a cloud storage service built for privacy by the Swiss company Proton, the maker of Proton Mail, Proton Calendar and Proton VPN. Files are end-to-end encrypted, so only the owner and invited collaborators can read them, and shared links can be given a password, an expiry date and specific permissions.
The service is protected by strict Swiss privacy law, which makes it a European alternative to American file hosting services. It suits people who store documents they would rather no provider could open, and anyone already using the other Proton apps.
Pricing
5 GB is free. The Plus plan gives 200 GB for 4.99 euro per month or 36 euro per year. Proton Unlimited bundles 500 GB with Mail, Calendar, VPN and Pass for 12.99 euro per month or 119 euro per year.
