Zeitkapsl automatically backs up photos and videos from Android and iOS, synchronises them across devices and provides desktop and web access. Albums can be shared by link or QR code, collaborators can add their own pictures, and on-device search can find places, dates, people and text without uploading an AI index.
The Austrian service encrypts photo and video content before upload and publishes its app source code. Primary storage is replicated across two Hetzner data centres in Germany, which makes Zeitkapsl a focused European alternative to Google Photos and iCloud Photos.
Pricing
There is no permanent free tier. A 30-day trial is available; paid storage starts at 2 euros per month or 20 euros per year for 50 GB.
