Proton Mail
Encrypted email from Switzerland
SwitzerlandEFTAEFTA hostedFree planEU controlledProton Mail is an encrypted email provider founded by scientists at CERN with the goal of protecting the privacy of the people using it. Messages are end-to-end encrypted and the servers stand in Switzerland, so Proton Mail has no way of reading your data. The service is free to start, carries no advertising and does not track you.
Strong Swiss privacy law and hardware owned and operated by Proton in several Swiss locations make it a European alternative to the large American mail services. It suits journalists, professionals with confidentiality duties and anyone who does not want their mail scanned.
Pricing
The free plan includes 1 GB of storage. Plus costs 4.99 euro per month or 36 euro per year for 15 GB. Proton Unlimited adds 500 GB and all Proton services for 12.99 euro per month or 119 euro per year.
