European file sharing services
Send big files through European transfer services
Replaces: AirDrop
A file sharing service is for the files email refuses to carry: video cuts, print ready artwork, photo sets, project archives. You upload once, the service gives you a download link, and the recipient needs nothing but a browser. Links usually expire after a set period, and many services add password protection, download notifications and a size limit generous enough for production files.
Transfers often carry client material that never went through any formal review, which makes the hosting country worth a thought. SwissTransfer, TransferNow and Smash are run by European companies, so uploads land on servers governed by European rules. A European file sharing service is also easier to hand to a client, since the link and the retention period both sit under GDPR.
