Several people can work on a document at the same time, leave comments and add photos, and everything is stored securely. It is part of the wider Proton Drive product, together with the spreadsheet tool Proton Sheets.
Documents stay on Proton's Swiss infrastructure, and Proton states that its data centres run on renewable energy and publishes sustainability reports on its work. The result is a European alternative to American office suites for teams that want collaborative editing without handing content to an advertising company.
Pricing
A limited free version is available. Advanced features, more storage and custom domains need a paid subscription such as Proton Unlimited or Visionary, starting at roughly 8 euro per month.
