Google Analytics is Google's web and app analytics platform, offered without a licence fee and used on a very large share of websites. It reports on traffic sources, audiences, events and conversions, links up with Google Ads and other Google marketing products, and covers iOS and Android applications as well as websites. Marketing teams rely on it for campaign attribution and reporting.
Analytics has been the sharpest point of the data transfer debate in Europe, with several national supervisory authorities examining how visitor data reaches US servers, and consent banners exist largely because of it.
