Ecosia is a search engine from Germany built around sustainability. The company donates 80 percent of the surplus revenue it earns from advertising to conservation projects, and its servers are run CO2 neutral.

Search results come from either Bing or Google, chosen according to user preference, location and device type, so the index is not Ecosia's own. The search engine is free and financed by advertising, and as a European alternative to American search it suits people who want their everyday queries to pay for conservation work.
