European search engines
Search the web through European operators
Replaces: Google Chrome · Google Search · Microsoft Bing · Yandex Search
A search engine lets you look for pages, images, news and files across the web. Behind the box sits either an index the company crawls and maintains itself, or results sourced from another index and presented with its own ranking and interface. The difference shows up in coverage, in how results are ranked, and in how much is built on advertising profiles.
Search queries say more about a person than most other data: health worries, job hunting, plans not yet shared with anyone. Mojeek runs an independent crawler and index. Qwant and Ecosia now co-develop the European Staan index, but both still supplement it with third-party sources, so index ownership belongs in the comparison.

Qwant
Privacy focused search engine from France
Qwant is a search engine from France that says it does not store or sell user search data. There is also a separate search engine for children.
