dnsforge is a public DNS resolver that filters advertising, tracking and malware domains before they reach your device. Because the blocking happens at DNS level, it applies to every application on the machine and not only to a browser with an extension installed.
All servers are located exclusively in Germany, and the project describes itself as sovereign infrastructure, which makes it a European alternative to the American filtering resolvers. It suits households and small networks that want ad and tracker blocking configured once on the router.
