GermanyLibreOffice is an office suite from The Document Foundation, a non-profit based in Germany. It includes Writer for text, Calc for spreadsheets, Impress for presentations, Draw for vector graphics, Base for databases and Math for formulas. Files are stored in the OpenDocument format, and the Microsoft Office formats can be read and written as well.
The suite is licensed under the copyleft Mozilla Public License 2.0, so nothing is tied to a subscription or an online account. As a European alternative to the American office packages, it suits schools, public bodies, companies and private users alike.
