Forgejo

Forgejo is open source version control software: a self-hosted Git forge built to stay lightweight and fast. It was created as a fork of Gitea after Gitea was acquired by a for-profit company, and the non-profit Git hosting platform Codeberg runs on it.

Forgejo is listed as self-hosted and open source, so the project itself is not necessarily European. What makes it a European alternative is where you run it: on your own European infrastructure, or on a European instance such as Codeberg. It suits teams that want to own their code hosting outright.
