European alternatives to NordVPN

NordVPN is a consumer VPN service with a large server network spread across many countries. People use it to protect traffic on public wifi, to keep their address away from the sites they visit, and to appear as if they are connecting from somewhere else. It ships as an app for phones, computers and routers and is sold on a subscription.
