Electronic signatures under European rules
Browse the category: Electronic signature software
Docusign is an electronic signature platform from the United States. You upload a contract, drop signature and date fields onto it, and send it to the people who need to sign, who complete it in a browser without printing anything. The service tracks who signed and when, stores an audit trail with the finished document, and connects to CRM and document systems through its API.
Signed agreements are exactly the documents a company must be able to produce years later, and in the EU their legal weight is governed by the eIDAS regulation, which brings identification and certificate providers into the picture. A European alternative to Docusign keeps both the signing flow and the archive with an EU or EFTA supplier. Yousign and Skribble handle signing for businesses of different sizes, sproof and Autenti offer signature services within the same European framework.

Questions
Are these signatures legally valid?
Electronic signatures in the EU are governed by eIDAS, which defines several levels with different evidential weight. Providers such as Skribble, Yousign and Autenti explain which levels they support, so match the level to what your contracts require.
Can I move my signed documents out of Docusign?
You can download completed documents together with their certificates of completion and store them in your own archive. Nothing carries the old audit trail into a new platform, so keep the exported files as your record.
Is there an option for high volume signing?
XiTrust MOXIS and Scrive are aimed at organisations that send documents in volume and want signing built into existing processes. Ask each vendor about API access, bulk sending and integration with your document system.
