TeamSpeak is a voice chat platform from TeamSpeak Systems in Krün, Germany, used by gamers since 2001. Its voice servers are built for low latency and can be hosted on your own machine, and TeamSpeak 6 adds text chat, communities and a modern client to the voice foundation.
German development and self-hosted servers make TeamSpeak a European alternative to the American community chat platforms, because the server and the conversations on it stay wherever you put them. The client is free to use and servers are licensed, so it suits gaming clans and communities that want a voice server of their own.
