Scope verdict

Ownership reviewed, controller unresolved

This service remains visible for context, but it is not counted or recommended as a European-controlled option.

How we classify services

Hostpress is a WordPress hosting provider from Germany. The hosting platform is based on Plesk, and every plan comes with guaranteed support response times, an advertised uptime of 99.99% and email mailboxes next to the hosting itself.

The servers run on renewable energy, the company publishes the certificates for it and planted 1,000 trees in 2022. For site owners looking for a European alternative to the American managed WordPress hosts, Hostpress suits businesses that want German support and a clear service promise.

Pricing

Plans start at 25 euros per month for one website with 10 GB of NVMe SSD storage, 2 vCPUs and 2 GB of RAM, including backups and five email inboxes.

Why this matters

Published MX records route incoming business email through Google Workspace. Correspondent details and message content can therefore enter this non-European provider's systems; MX does not reveal the configured storage region.

TXT google._domainkey DKIM key published

A provider-specific DKIM record is published for Google Workspace. This shows configured mail-signing infrastructure, but not that every message currently uses it.

Non-European provider

SPF include:_spf.google.com

Google Workspace is authorised to send email for this domain. The SPF entry can be unused or stale and does not reveal the configured data region.

This is a targeted check, not a complete zone inventory. Generic Google and Microsoft verification tokens are ignored because they do not prove product use or a data flow. DNS normally cannot list arbitrary subdomains or customer-chosen DKIM selectors, including Salesforce selectors. Missing signals are not proof that a provider is unused.
