Operations
Who runs the parts of the service we could observe from outside, checked 4 September 2026. A provider's control can differ from where its servers stand.

Zeitkapsl says photos, videos and relevant metadata are end-to-end encrypted before upload. Primary storage is in Germany, while encrypted backups use Backblaze's EU-Central region. Fastmail handles email, Stripe handles payments, and Apple and Google provide app-store infrastructure; these non-European routes do not give those providers access to encrypted photo content.
