Register No. 106
Is JetBrains European?
Yes. JetBrains is under verified European control.
JetBrains is privately owned and has never published who owns its Amsterdam holding company. The UK company register, however, records co-founder Sergey Dmitriev, who lives in Cyprus, as the person with significant control of a JetBrains subsidiary that the holding owns outright, which under UK rules means he holds a majority stake in each company above it, the holding included. Cyprus is an EU member state.

About JetBrains
JetBrains makes development environments for programmers, among them IntelliJ IDEA for Java and Kotlin and PyCharm for Python, along with AI coding tools and products for teams. Its headquarters is JetBrains N.V. in Amsterdam, and its main sales company is JetBrains s.r.o. in Prague. It says it has more than 2,600 employees in 14 offices.
Ownership
JetBrains s.r.o. in Prague, which holds the product rights and sells the products to most customers, is wholly owned by JetBrains N.V., the group's holding company and headquarters in Amsterdam. JetBrains N.V. does not publish its shareholders, but the UK company register records co-founder Sergey Dmitriev, resident in Cyprus, as holding 75% or more of the shares and votes of JetBrains UK Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of JetBrains N.V.; UK rules register an indirect holder only when he has a majority stake in each company above. Before JetBrains N.V. took over in 2014, the Czech register showed Dmitriev with 58 1/3 percent of the Prague company and co-founder Valentin Kipyatkov with 41 2/3 percent.
